My name is Becky and this is my blog. City of Mania comes from the game Shivering Isles, an Oblivion expansion pack. Mania is the upper half of the Shivering Isles and is characterized by extreme creativity, ambition, irritability, craziness, and elevated mood. I’m one of those people who starts ten projects at once and slowly finishes (or maybe doesn’t finish) them as I go on. I always get crazy creative sparks and I always try new things from crocheting to sewing to baking to cooking to painting to writing to graphic design to film photography and even weirder projects like making cybergoth hairfalls, painting enormous paintings on butcher paper, cleaning up old furniture found on the side of the road, and so on.

I love all things spooky and weird, as well as cozy and soft. My interests and hobbies include crochet, interior decorating and expecially mid-century design, tea, fashion, sewing, writing, drawing, painting, making websites and graphic design, journalism, politics, electronic body music and especially futurepop, video games, making lotion and lip balm, cats, saving the trees and wonky environment saving projects, making bread, baking in general, cooking, and traveling for fun, not work. In the future I’d like to get into soapmaking, learn how to sew better, and soda-pop creation and bottling.

The boring stuff: I’m currently 23 years old and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin. I work as a front-end web developer by day. I live with my partner-in-crime, Chris, and my two cats, Kiki (black and white domestic shorthair female) and Augustus (tan, gray, and white domestic longhair male) in Boston, Massachusetts.

City of Mania is where I document my craziness, but it’s also just an online journal, simple as that.
